Double the Love Chocolate Brownies
This week we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary! We celebrated with shrimp scampi for dinner, and these double the love chocolate brownies for dessert. I’m a firm believer that the best way to show love and affection is through chocolate, haha.
This recipe makes extra dark chocolate brownies. (I’m always amazed that it calls for a whole cup of cocoa powder!) They are decadent, rich, and oh so filling. With only 5 ingredients, it’s also just as easy as using a boxed mix. These are perfect to share with friends or loved ones…because they really are filled with double the love.
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 cup cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
1 cup melted butter
4 eggs
Instructions
1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom of a 9×9 pan and set aside.
2
Combine flour and cocoa in a large bowl. Use a whisk to break apart any lumps in the dry mixture.
3
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and whisk together until mixture is smooth.
4
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined. You shouldn’t see any pockets of dry ingredients – but you also don’t want to over-mix.
5
Pour batter into pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into 9-12 pieces. Serve with vanilla ice cream or simply dust with powdered sugar.
